- Lot Description
This automotive mascot is a hood ornament designed for the 1956 Oldsmobile. It features the iconic Rocket design characteristic of mid-century General Motors Jet Age styling. The piece is constructed from chrome-plated die-cast metal and features an aerodynamic fuselage, swept-back wings, and a tall dorsal fin with three vertical accent grooves. The ornament is mounted on a modern custom display stand composed of a flat metal base and two threaded metal rods. The second image shows the interior hollow casting and the original mounting bosses. No manufacturer marks or part numbers are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
