Behind the Curtain: The Tony Walton Collection includes more than 700 lots from the estate of theatre and film designer Tony Walton. Day three of this three day sale includes items from Walton's personal collection. A large collection of theatre posters and window cards, including many designed by Tony Walton, is among the highlights. Day three also includes original artwork, books, awards, and a large selection of Playbills from throughout Walton's career. A selection of tin litho and other toys rounds out day three.
Behind the Curtain: The Tony Walton Collection includes more than 700 lots from the estate of theatre and film designer Tony Walton. Day two of this three day sale picks up with Walton's work on the 1981 Broadway production of Sophisticated Ladies through the end of his career in 2018. Highlights include the original artwork for both the show scrim and poster for Sophisticated Ladies, original set and costumed design artwork, and scale set models for Woman of the Year, The Real Thing, Hurlyburly and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and more.

Day one of this three day sale features items from the beginning of Walton's career in the 1950s through 1980. Highlights include caricatures and sketches for Playbill, set design artwork for Walton's union exam and Conversation Piece, his first show in New York, as well as set and costume design artwork for several West End productions including Valmouth, Fool's Paradise, The Most Happy Fella and One Over the Eight. A sketchbook from Walton's first Broadway prod
