Auction Description

Decorative Arts And Fine Objects Auction by Crafted Auction

This important estate auction brings together an exceptional and diverse selection of fine and decorative arts drawn from distinguished private collections. Spanning the late 19th through the late 20th century, the sale showcases a thoughtfully curated offering of objects representing key artistic movements including Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, mid-century modern, and traditional European and Asian decorative arts.

A significant highlight of the auction is the outstanding selection of estate jewelry, featuring sterling silver and gold examples, Native American turquoise jewelry, artisan modernist designs, and finely crafted pendants, bracelets, brooches, and necklaces. Complementing the jewelry is an impressive array of bronze sculpture, including Grand Tour–style figures, classical and animalier works, and large-scale decorative bronzes mounted on marble and stone bases.

The decorative arts portion of the auction includes Asian ceramics such as Qing and Meiji period examples, Yixing teapots, Satsuma wares, and celadon pottery, alongside European porcelain and art pottery by noted makers. Important metalwork and design objects are represented by Liberty & Co. Tudric pewter by Archibald Knox, Chase copper and brass, and other important Arts & Crafts and modernist designers.

Additional highlights include fine clocks by makers such as Ansonia and French onyx mantel clocks, mid-century modern lighting and decorative objects, Italian ceramics and glass, furniture, writing desks, cabinets, and architectural pieces. The sale also features collectible comic books, vintage advertising, and historically significant decorative and industrial design objects.

This comprehensive and carefully assembled auction offers collectors, designers, and connoisseurs a rare opportunity to acquire exceptional works across multiple collecting categories, with pieces selected for their craftsmanship, artistic merit, historical significance, and decorative appeal.

TERMS OF SALE

Each lot in the auction and/or catalog is subject to the following terms and conditions of sale, as supplemented in writing or otherwise by us at any time before the sale. By registering to bid, bidding, or purchasing in any way a lot from Crafted Auctions, the client agrees to be bound by these terms.

Auction

The auctioneer will introduce each object for sale, hereby referred to as “lots”, in numerical order as listed in the corresponding catalog or website.

The estimates that appear with each lot description are approximations reflecting the range in which the hammer price may fall. Some lots are subject to a reserve, the price below which an item cannot be sold. In most instances, the reserve is less than the low estimate.

The auctioneer determines the highest bidder and selling price of every lot. He or she may re-offer and resell any lot and will be responsible for resolving any dispute in bidding. The judgment of the auctioneer is final and binding.

Bidding

To bid in an auction, you must create an account with us and register for that auction. This account is different from your CraftedAuctions.com retail website account. But, once you have an auction bidding account with us, you will only need to register for each future auction in which you plan to bid. You may register for and participate in any auction as soon as the auction goes live on our Site.

A client unable to attend the sale may bid via phone, absentee, or online. Please complete and submit an absentee or telephone bid form on our website, or at the auction house.

Crafted Auctions assumes no responsibility for a failure to execute any bid or errors or omissions made in connection with any remote bidding arrangement.

During phone bidding, an agent representing Crafted Auctions will call the client during the live sale to execute bids on client’s behalf. The client should instruct Crafted Auctions’ agent to bid as they choose. Please make arrangements for phone bidding as early as possible as there are a limited number of phone lines available. Crafted Auctions does not guarantee an available phone line if arrangements are made after 5:00pm CST on the day prior to a sale.

Clients may leave absentee bids to be executed by one of our representatives. Crafted Auctions makes every effort to purchase a lot as inexpensively as possible without exceeding the client’s limit. Please submit absentee bids prior to 5:00pm CST on the day prior to the sale.
