An extraordinary 1873 presentation dagger inscribed “Presented to President Grant By the Miners of Warren’s Diggings 1873.” The 11-inch dagger bears the mark of noted San Francisco maker M. Price and represents a remarkable intersection of Presidential, Western and Gold Rush history.

Original July 1863 newspaper coverage of the bloody assault on Fort Wagner, where the famed 54th Massachusetts led the attack and Colonel Robert Gould Shaw was killed on the ramparts.
