An extremely rare painting by Nat Karson, an influential force in American theater through his work with the Federal Theatre Project. This piece reflects his signature mastery of dramatic composition and visual storytelling. As Karson’s surviving paintings are exceptionally scarce—his legacy largely tied to ephemeral stage and design work—this work is an extraordinarily rare opportunity to acquire a fully realized example of his artistic vision, signed lower right, canvas: 34 1/4 x 52 in., frame: 39 x 57 1/4 in.
