French, late 19th/early 20th century. French Empire style ormolu mounted burl walnut server or buffet with rectangular white and gray marble top over a frieze mounted with ormolu stars centering a pair of drawers above a pair of doors, one mounted with mythological figure of Apollo, the other with Diana, flanked and centered by pilasters with ormolu mounts and raised on front heavy bun feet. Approximate height 39.25", width 58.15", depth 21".
A few scattered long scratches on marble top commensurate with age and use (likely from placing object with sharp corners and dragging along top). Very slight oxidation to the ormolu mounts. Interior of hinged doors with scattered small veneer losses at top edge (one on left side, more on right side). Both hinged doors exhibit later masking tape at the lower interior edge, perhaps as reinforcement. Later wood reinforcements on side rails below drawered storage. Lower storage space exhibits gap between the lower board and the front interior cross rail. Back of buffet with some black marks and areas near the top right and left corner has old remnants of adhesive, perhaps from a former label. The feet exhibit scuffing commensurate with age and use. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
