An Oceanic carved and painted wood mask, likely from the Sepik River of Papua New Guinea or a neighboring region. It has an elongated oval form, prominent projecting central nose, large circular eyes, painted curvilinear motifs, and attached fiber elements The mask is decorated in ochre, cream, and black tones with symmetrical geometric designs.

Fair to Good antique condition. Widespread abrasions and pigment loss, particularly across the raised portions of the mask. Soiling and exposed wood is visible with scattered small chips and losses. The attached fiber elements are frayed and partially lost. No major structural breaks. No further damage or restoration revealed under blacklight. Please see photos.
