Ancient Central Asia, Siberia, Pleistocene Epoch, ca. 1.2 million to 24,000 years ago; Ancient North America, Alaska, Pleistocene Epoch, ca. 1.2 million to 24,000 years ago. A wonderful collection of fossilized teeth from the prehistoric woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis), and a fossilized vertebra from a walrus (Odobenus rosmarus). The enamel and roots are shiny shades of brown, caramel, and black as a result of fossilization. The flat profile tops and depressions indicate herbivore dentate. The walrus vertebra is a light brown with porous edges and a rough striated surface from the fossilization process. A wonderful collection of teeth and bones from prehistoric animals! Size of vertebra: 3.75" W x 4" H (9.5 cm x 10.2 cm); 6.25" H (15.9 cm) on included custom stand; size of largest tooth: 2" W x 3.5" H (5.1 cm x 8.9 cm); 4.5" H (11.4 cm) on included custom stand.
