- Lot Description
Ancient Seas, Indonesia, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago. A massive, fossilized tooth from the prehistoric megalodon shark! The tooth exhibits an attractive light hue; creamy beige enamel with a caramel hue bourlette. Edges of the tooth are serrated, ideal for ripping through prey like a steak knife! The enamel is naturally reflective, and the light colors are a result of the fossilization process as well as the minerals present in the sediment and water. A wonderful tooth from one of the ancient seas' most ferocious hunters that still strikes fear today. This is one of the largest examples we have come across! Size: 5.25" L x 4.43" W (13.3 cm x 11.3 cm)
