An original concert poster for the "Battle of the Blues: Howling Wolf vs. Muddy Waters" at Club Paradise in Memphis, Tennessee in 1964. Globe Poster, Baltimore, Maryland - featuring wonderful black and white photos of each blues legend and text announcing this exciting show down and listing each musician's hits. Oh, and just imagine witnessing this blues battle for less than $5.00; as the poster advertises, tickets were just $3.50 in advance and $4.00 at the door. What's more, attached to the protective sleeve is an informative label that reads, "Club Paradise was opened by Sunbeam Mitchell in 1962, after he was forced out when the bulldozers hit historic Beale Street. He relocated to Georgia Avenue and built the largest nightclub in Memphis. Along with Detroit, this is where soul music got its start." This is an amazing piece of memorabilia for anyone who appreciates Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf, legendary musicians of blues guitar, as well as this historic blues venue! Condition
Poster shows expected age wear. Folding to corners and creases here and there. Otherwise very good. Plastic sleeve has some tears and repairs, but still seems to have helped to protect the poster.
