• Lot Description
  Ancient Near East, Hellenistic period, Parthia, ca. 1st century BCE. An exemplary silver bowl boasting a hemispherical body, a flared rim, and incised, dotted, and gilt decoration. The exterior of the dazzling vessel features incised striation radiating from the center with a dotted motif at the top, just beneath a zigzag band. A horizontal register of gilt spiral motif is displayed just beneath the rim. Size: 5.3" L x 5" W x 1.8" H (13.5 cm x 12.7 cm x 4.6 cm); silver quality: 95%; weight: 111.9 grams
