**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Eastern Mediterranean, Phoenicia, ca. 4th to 3rd century BCE; Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A wonderful collection of 4 colorful glass items including a ring and three beads. The ring is made from a deep-sea green with a rounded band and a flat, ovoid face. Next is a dark mauve bead shaped like a vessel with a cavity opening on the top of a short neck. A zigzag design of blue glass is applied to the rounded body, and a small nub at the bottom creates a base for this miniature amphora. The final two are charming beads in the form of birds. The glass is feathered with marvered swirls through the bodies. One is composed of black, white, and orange glass with applied eyes and a small beak. The other is a light blue with yellow and orange marvering and black eyes. Both are pieced laterally through the bodies for suspension. Size of ring: 0.7" Diameter (1.8 cm); US ring size: 1.5; bird: 0.75" L x .375" W x 0.7" H (1.9 cm x 1 cm x 1.8 cm)
