An approximate 3 3/4" enamel dial, has Roman numerals for all chapters, with dots at the dial's edge for minutes, a cluster of four at each chapter. In between chapters on center, a trident in red indicates five minute intervals. Trident blued hour hand, variant spade type minute hand. Beveled edge domed crystal. Complicated opened cornice above twelve, cast in frame vase with florals below six. Pillar type feet which extends to a short column, attached to the main body with a buttress. On the flanks are scrolls with with floral edging, a decorative attachment at the cast base center, topped with the classic covered urn. A Japy Freres round, typically an eight day movement, striking on the half and full hour, utilizing a coil of harden steel for the sound of the strike, provides the power for the clock. Stamped "Tiffany & Co New York" on the back plate, close to the hammer pivot point. Original pendulum and French style key. Weighs fifteen pounds.
Condition
Very good overall. Oxidation to gilt finish, which is removable. Running and chiming at inspection, but not tested for accuracy.
