• Lot Description
  West Persian carpet exhibiting a blend of Bakhtiari and Heriz design elements. The field centers on a bold multi-layered medallion constructed in the angular Heriz manner, filled with tightly packed floral rosettes and geometric vinery. Surrounding this is a pattern of repeating blossoms, latch-hook motifs, and stylized foliage rendered in saturated tones of deep madder red, indigo, ivory, saffron, and touches of teal. <br> The ivory spandrels and borders, feature floral sprays, serrated leaves, and repeating boteh-inspired forms, framed by complementary guard borders in dark indigo and red. Persian, ca. 1970's
