• Lot Description
  A carved steatite vessel in the style of ancient Mesopotamian or Near Eastern art, featuring a baluster form with incised narrative decoration. The surface is intricately carved with horizontal bands of stylized human figures, animals, and foliage in low relief, depicting what appear to be scenes of hunting or ritual procession. Pierced lug handles are present at the shoulder, and the rim and base are decorated with radial incised designs. The vessel exhibits surface encrustation and patina consistent with age or deliberate antiquing.
