• Lot Description
  A hand-knotted Caucasian rug featuring three bold Lesghi star medallions in gold/saffron on a madder red ground, set within an indigo blue field. The central field is populated with secondary motifs including stylized rosettes, ram's horn devices, and scattered floral elements. A main border of indigo blue carries running vine and geometric motifs, flanked by narrow guard borders with a reciprocal pattern on an ivory ground. Caucasus region (likely Shirvan or Dagestan district) Estimated period: Mid-to-late 20th century.

  Condition

  Wool pile on wool foundation. Fringed ends with minor fraying visible at both ends. Colors are vivid and well-saturated, suggesting natural or high-quality dyes. Pile appears even with moderate wear consistent with age and use. No visible holes, patches.
