• Lot Description
  A Chinese five-panel lacquered hardstone-overlay folding screen, 20th century, the graduated panels with applied carvings of mother-of-pearl, soapstone, and tinted hardstone depicting a pair of cranes beneath a pine tree on the central panel, the flanking panels with songbirds among peonies and prunus, all set against a black and green lacquered ground painted in gilt with bamboo; the lower aprons inset with carved medallions; the reverse decorated in gilt outline with a continuous mountain landscape; mounted with brass strap hinges and brass-capped feet.
