• Lot Description
  A pair of Chinese export carved and ebonized hardwood armchairs, late 19th / early 20th century, each with an arched and pierced back-splat deeply carved in relief with a five-clawed dragon writhing amid clouds and a flaming pearl, the curved crest rail continuing into scrolling arms terminating in fully carved dragon-head finials, the solid scoop-form seat above a pierced foliate-carved apron, raised on four cabriole legs carved with leafage and ending in scrolled toe feet.
