The Marlin "Victor"was the company's foray into the self contained pistol cartridge market. Bearing an 1870 patent date, this half octagonal 2 3/4" barrel chambered for the long .38 rimfire cartridge is a scarce item, as only about 2000 are claimed to have been manufactured. Rounded brass "bird's head" butt, features a spring loaded release that swings the barrel to the right. Rosewood grips. Serial number 399 stamped on barrel.
Condition
Barrel has rifling, with some deep areas of corrosion. Hammer spring does not currently function, as the grip screw is frozen, unable to state as broken or off the stirrup.
