• Lot Description
  A finely cast Japanese bronze figure of Hotei, also known as the Laughing Buddha or Budai, depicted mid-dance with a joyful expression, holding a wish-granting fan (ōgi) aloft. The figure stands on a tied cloth sack base, referencing his legendary bag of treasures and blessings. The sculpture captures a dynamic sense of movement and lightness, emblematic of good fortune and contentment. The back is signed with a square-form Japanese seal mark, possibly reading 久重 (Hisashige), though attribution is unconfirmed.

  Minor surface wear, small casting line to rear; overall excellent patina and presentation.
