Japanese Imari porcelain bowl of fluted chrysanthemum form, hand-painted in a palette of iron red, green, turquoise, cobalt blue, and gold. The exterior is adorned with peony blossoms and flowering branches, emerging from stylized rockwork—a traditional motif symbolizing prosperity and endurance. The interior features an elaborate central medallion of floral sprays and a gilt imperial cart, surrounded by panels with figural scenes, phoenixes, and further floral ornamentation. The scalloped rim is gilded and decorated with continuous floral motifs, complementing the rhythmic fluting of the bowl’s body. A painted stylized mon or crest in iron red and gold graces the underside, possibly a kiln or artist’s mark.
