• Lot Description
  A Pair of Circular Park Scenes with Elegant Figures. Watercolor on paper, each monogrammed "GM" lower center, matted under glass in circular giltwood frames with beaded outer molding. The first depicting a wooded park clearing with figures gathered at a stone fountain before a sculpted bust on a pedestal; the second a formal parterre garden with figures at play on a terrace flanked by recumbent feline sculptures, before a central jet fountain. Each verso retains the printed Paris retailer label of E. Guittet, Décoration d'Intérieurs, Articles pour Cadeaux, 29 Boulevard Malesherbes, Paris.

  Condition

  Watercolors present with strong saturated palette; examined under glazing only — not inspected outside the frames. Frames with rubbed gilding throughout exposing red bole at high points; vertical crack to the lower edge of one frame; minor losses and chips to the gilt molding on both.
