Mamluk-style enameled and gilt pale green glass mosque lamp, late 19th/early 20th century, of traditional baluster form with everted rim, twin applied glass loop handles to shoulder, and spreading circular foot. Decorated overall with polychrome enameled and gilded bands of stylized Kufic calligraphy, lobed quatrefoil cartouches, and floral roundels in cobalt blue and iron red on a richly gilded ground. In the manner of Philippe-Joseph Brocard.
Condition
Condition: Good. Glass body intact with no chips, cracks, or restorations observed. All three applied glass suspension loops and applied flame-form glass drops are secure. Notable wear and rubbing to the gilding throughout, with scattered losses most visible in the central inscription band on the shoulder, exposing the underlying glass. Foot rim with light gilt rubbing. Polychrome enamels in cobalt blue and iron red appear stable with no flaking observed. Light iridescent surface bloom consistent with age. No maker's mark, signature, or label observed. No accessories.
