(pair) Louis XV style malachite-veneered vitrines/ display cabinets, with gilt-bronze and porcelain mounts, approx 72"h, 42"w, 19"d
CR 8.22.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3239 – the pair are impressive, sturdy, and overall intact, each retains a key that operates the locking side doors, the glass and bottom mirror plates appear free of apparent chips or cracks to visible areas though light surface wear and roughness are observed along the edges of the bottom mirrors, the glass would benefit from a thorough cleaning, the ormolu mounts are present and securely attached, and the porcelain portraits are well defined, under UV light I note some adhesive visible at the portraits and lower rear ormolu mounts, the malachite-tiled cases display characteristics inherent to the stone including minor variations, imperfections, and inclusions, under UV light I observe areas of professional stabilization to the stone from the time of creation, this is not a loss and is visible primarily only under UV examination, I am unable to fully view the tops, cases exhibit scattered small abrasions, minor nicks, light blemishes, and general light wear commensurate with use, in my opinion all issues mentioned are minor with no major losses observed, overall condition is consistent with the materials and use, I am not an expert on such works and have provided high-resolution images for review, please let me know if you would like further information
