(lot of 8 pieces) Egyptian Revival mahogany bedroom suite, late 19th/ early 20th c., with bronze mounts, including: (1) bed with partial canopy, flanked by hangings above winged cartouche mount, over fourteen-light back-lit eglomise Egyptian scene depicting Cleopatra and Marc Antony, framed with hieroglyphs, the shaped footboard joined by stretchers, back-lit illumination in need of wiring, exterior: approx 96"h, 84"l, 68"w, interior: approx 77.5"l, 59.75"w; (1) chest of drawers, surmounted by a shaped mirror, rectangular top over pair of drawers, above two full-length drawers, having bronze eagle mounts and pharaoh masks to either side, approx 36.25"h, 56.5"w, 28.25"d; (1) vanity, surmounted by a central shaped mirror and two lesser mirrors to either side, over a pair of drawers flanked by three short drawers with winged mask mounts, supported by fluted columns, approx 80"h, 58.5"w, 28.5"d; (2) bedside tables, the square tops over a drawer, raised on fluted columnar supports, joined by lower shelf, ending on casters, approx 32.5"h, 17.25"w, 17"d; (3) seating group, each with upholstered seats, acanthus rinceau, gilt-bronze mounts in the form of masks and hieroglyphs, comprising (one) armchair, approx 37"h, 23"w, 23.5"d, seat height: approx 17.5"h; (one) side chair, approx 35.75"h, 18"w, 19.5"d, seat height: approx 17.25"h; (one) bench, approx 24.5"h, 28.75"w, 17"d, seat height: 17"h **Provenance: Purchased at Bonhams over 25 years ago.
