(lot of 5) Modernist "Brno" flat bar armchairs, originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (German-American, 1886-1969), 21st c., varied manufacturers, each in black leather upholstery, steel cantilever frame in a polished mirror chrome finish, including: (4) manufactured by Gordon International, retaining manufacturer's tag under seat, approx 32"h 22.5"w, 19.5"d, seat height: approx 17.5"h; (1) manufactured by Alivar, branded lining fabric under seat, approx 30.25"h, 23"w, 21"d, seat height: approx 17.5"h **NOTE: description revised 09.03.25 to note one chair with a varied manufacturer**
09.03.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 1258: Please note that upon examination for the condition report, it was found that one of the chairs is produced by a different manufacturer than the others and has slightly varied dimensions. The shorter chair is manufactured by Alivar and measures approx 30.25”h, 23”w, 21”d, seat height: approx 17.5”h, I have amended the listing description to reflect such findings, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this error; I note that all chairs remain structurally secure and stand sturdy, the leather remaining securely bound and taut throughout seams, leather is free from observed holes or tearing, a few of the chairs with some minor peeling at upper corners of seat back (see images), the steel frame with light spotting commensurate with patination/ oxidation and use
