French Louis XVI style mahogany writing desk, late 19th c., inset writing surface below a glass top, brass inlay, two frieze drawers, on tapering fluted legs, approx 29.5"h, 35.5"w, 21.75"d, floor to bottom of apron (clearance): approx 24.5"h
Condition
10.8.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3457— the bureau plat presents as structurally sound and stable, the inset writing surface is overlaid with glass protection which remains intact and free of apparent chips or cracks, the underlying surface shows light wear, faint impressions, and natural variation, the wood frame exhibits scattered light nicks, rubs, and tonal variation throughout, with two small losses noted near the lower right corner, the gilt metal trim and mounts display slight denting, oxidation, and patination, both drawers open smoothly with interiors showing light dust and minor residue consistent with use, all wear is minor and commensurate with age and function
