- Lot Description
French mid-century modern lacquered exotic veneer sideboard, c.1960s, likely in macassar ebony or rosewood veneers, fitted with two sets of dual cabinet doors inlaid with contrasting stringwork, one side opening to adjustable shelving, the other with shelf over two drawers, rising on tapered legs, ending on metal-capped feet, approx 38"h, 88.75"w, 20.75"d **Note: matching table offered in this auction**
Condition
CR 8.26.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 1255: I note that the sideboard stands sturdy, with the cabinet doors remaining secure at hinges and operating smoothly. The interior is overall well-kept/ clean, and the cabinet drawers open without resistance, right-hand cabinet lacking a glass shelf. The lacquered finish is overall well-preserved, having only some sparse, typical minute nicks and chips commensurate with age and use, mostly appearing at edges (see images), also having some typical light abrasions. There is a minute, stable hairline at the lower corners of out cabinets at the joinery to hinge that are inherent to the opening of the doors (see images). Close examination reveals a small minor segment of filled restoration of the back right corner of top.
