A. Benoit Nicolet 15-jewel Swiss pocket watch – 14K gold-filled case – fine early 1900s ladies’ timepiece.
Presented here is an elegant Swiss-made pocket watch by A. Benoit Nicolet, a refined 15-jewel example housed in a 14K gold-filled case, dating from the early 20th century. This timepiece represents the quality and charm typical of small-form European watches crafted for the American market during the Art Nouveau and Edwardian eras.
The gold-tone metal dial is marked with stylized Arabic numerals and a classic railway-style minute track, complemented by delicate blued steel hands. Its minimal and balanced aesthetic was a hallmark of the early 1900s, appealing to those who valued understated luxury. The dial shows light patina consistent with its age, enhancing its vintage appeal.
Inside, the manual-wind Swiss movement is marked:
“A. Benoit Nicolet – 15 Jewels – Swiss Made.”
The movement exhibits bright gilt finishing with blued screws and visible gearwork, showcasing solid Swiss craftsmanship. The watch winds and sets correctly; running condition is untested and it is offered as-is.
The case interior is stamped:
“Fahys Bristol, Guaranteed 20 Years, 106, 10130671.”
This hallmark identifies the case as Fahys Gold-Filled, one of America’s best-known case makers, guaranteeing 20 years of wear—a common and respected mark of quality from the period. The exterior case features smooth, elegant curvature with a slightly domed back and firm hinges, all in well-preserved condition.
Early 20th-century Swiss pocket watches by A. Benoit Nicolet are recognized for their solid craftsmanship and graceful design, often serving as transitional pieces between the ornate 19th-century styles and the emerging streamlined designs of the 1920s.
Comparable examples with similar 14K gold-filled Fahys cases and 15-jewel Swiss movements typically sell in the $275–$450 range.
Given its condition, craftsmanship, and elegant presentation, this example is valued around $375.
Offered for sale as-is, this refined A. Benoit Nicolet 15-jewel pocket watch is an excellent collectible example of early 20th-century Swiss watchmaking artistry—ideal for both display and period horological collections.
