Vintage Bulova Aerojet – gold-tone waterproof wristwatch – 1960s mid-century men’s dress watch with stretch band.
Description:
Offered here is a refined Bulova “Aerojet” wristwatch, a model that embodies the clean, elegant lines of 1960s American watch design. Known for precision and understated sophistication, the Aerojet series represents Bulova’s post-war innovation era, balancing performance and style for the modern professional.
The silvered dial is signed “Bulova Aerojet” and “Waterproof”, featuring minimalist gold-tone baton hour markers, matching pencil hands, and a central sweeping seconds hand. The dial exhibits gentle aging and light surface marks consistent with vintage use, while maintaining excellent legibility and visual appeal.
The gold-tone case has a smooth, polished finish and is fitted with a matching gold stretch band, complementing the watch’s sleek and practical mid-century aesthetic. The crystal remains intact, showing light wear commensurate with age. The watch winds, sets, and runs at the time of cataloging, though accuracy and reserve duration have not been tested.
The Bulova Aerojet was designed as a reliable, water-resistant dress watch for the jet-age gentleman — a product of the period’s fascination with travel, technology, and timeless style. With its slim profile and versatile gold finish, it remains an enduring symbol of American horological craftsmanship.
