Hamilton “Tonneau” Wristwatch – 14K Gold-Filled Case – Stretch Band – Presented in Bulova Display Box
Description:
Presented here is an elegant Hamilton men’s wristwatch, circa mid-20th century, housed in a 14K gold-filled rectangular case with stylized lugs and a matching engraved stretch bracelet. While displayed in a vintage Bulova presentation box, the watch itself is a fine example of Hamilton’s craftsmanship during America’s golden age of wristwatch design.
The warm copper-tone dial features applied gold Arabic numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blue steel hands that retain much of their original luster. The rectangular dial and curved crystal reflect the Art Deco and early postwar aesthetic that defined Hamilton’s most iconic dress watches. The dial shows even patina consistent with age, adding a touch of vintage charm and authenticity.
The 14K gold-filled case remains in very good condition with minimal wear and a bright, even tone throughout. The stretch band, also gold-filled, carries a handsome engraved geometric pattern that complements the case design. The movement winds, sets, and runs at the time of cataloging, though accuracy and power reserve duration have not been tested.
Known for precision and restrained elegance, Hamilton was one of the premier American watchmakers of the 20th century, supplying both military and civilian markets with high-quality timepieces that remain prized among collectors today.
