- Lot Description
Hand-carved serpentine sculpture titled “Diving/Dancing Bear” by Inuit artist Isaacie Petaulassie of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, dated 2011. The work depicts a stylized bear balanced on one foot with limbs extended. Carved from mottled green serpentine with natural veining throughout. The sculpture is signed on the underside and includes the original Canadian Government Igloo Tag certification card. Sculpture is in good condition with light handling wear. Please see photos for additional details. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Isaaci Petaulassie (born 1958) is an Inuit carver from Cape Dorset, known for his stone sculptures depicting Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit themes. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
