Hand-carved serpentine sculpture titled “Diving/Dancing Bear” by Inuit artist Isaacie Petaulassie of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, dated 2011. The work depicts a stylized bear balanced on one foot with limbs extended. Carved from mottled green serpentine with natural veining throughout. The sculpture is signed on the underside and includes the original Canadian Government Igloo Tag certification card. Sculpture is in good condition with light handling wear. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Isaaci Petaulassie (born 1958) is an Inuit carver from Cape Dorset, known for his stone sculptures depicting Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit themes. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Most items are eligible for in-house shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent within 5 business days of the auction close. Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value items will receive a UPS shipping quote. Buyers may request a list of recommended third-party shippers if preferred. All shipping costs are non-refundable. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
