Hand-carved Arctic fox sculpture by Inuit artist John Taylor of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada. The fox is carved from white alabaster with a smooth finish along the body and a more natural textured surface to the tail and base. The underside is incised with the artist’s name and initials. The original Canadian government certification card accompanies the piece, confirming it as an authentic work by a Canadian Inuk artist. Sculpture is in good condition. | Please see photos for additional details. | | ABOUT THE ARTIST: John Taylor, born in 1990 in Tuktoyaktuk (Tuktuuyaqtuuq), Northwest Territories, is an Inuit carver from the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of Canada. He grew up surrounded by carving, learning the craft from his family, who have passed the skill down through several generations. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Most items are eligible for in-house shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent within 5 business days of the auction close. Large, heavy, fragile, or high-value items will receive a UPS shipping quote. Buyers may request a list of recommended third-party shippers if preferred. All shipping costs are non-refundable. Local pickup is available by appointment at our Ferndale, Michigan facility. Pickup or shipping must be scheduled within 15 business days of the invoice date to avoid storage fees.
