Pair of abstract encaustic on panel paintings by contemporary artist Mark Perlman, both completed in 1994. The first, titled First Avenue, measures 10 by 10 inches and features a densely textured surface of layered wax, pigment, and embedded ephemera, incorporating subtle linear and gestural markings. The second, titled Blackney, measures 12.5 inches by 10.5 inches and features a similar style to the first painting with rich encaustic layering with earthy tones, translucent veils and hunts of found text. Each piece is signed and dated on the reverse and retains its original gallery label. Both pieces are floated within minimalist wood frames and in good condition. See photos for additional details. Dimensions: 11.75 inches by 12 inches by 1.75 inches to 11.75 inches by 14 inches by 1.75 inches | Weight Together: 5.4lbs |
