- Lot Description
A 1984 Mark Trail comic strip original art for the December 27, 1984 edition. This long running comic strip was distributed at the time by News America Syndicate in Chicago. This ink drawing on artist paper is addressed and signed by Jack Elrod (American, 1924 - 2016), one of the principal authors of the strip, as follows: "Best to you, Pha[?][?], from Mark Trail and Jack Elrod [signed]". The original art was sent to the syndicator who would create photographic copies to be distributed to its customers who then published the works, typically in newspapers.
