- Lot Description
An antique large ceramic tankard produced by the D. F. Haynes & Co of Baltimore, Maryland decorated in an Egyptian Revival style bearing pattern number 632. The mold formed tankard features motifs from ancient and then contemprary Egyptian history with transfer and hand painted features on a beige ground surrounded by dark brown. The rim is edged in gold. The underside bears the Haynes back stamp. While other articles in this line, such as the water pitcher, are readily available, this tankard is quite hard to find, making it an excellent selection for Haynes ware collectors.
