A still life entitled Cherokee Pottery depicting just that against a dark ground, giving the terra cotta pots of various forms the spotlight. Billy Mack Steele (1941 - 2023) was an American Cherokee artist who worked primarily in watercolors and sculpture. His most memorable painting hangs in the Trail of Tears Museum in Georgia and is thusly titled. Framed in gold. Titled and signed in lower left and right, respectively. Probably 21st C.
