Perhaps inspired by Childe Hassam's flag series, this artist has painted a street whose houses are draped with American flags, whose strollers amble without care in Martha's Vineayard's Edgartown - in a time and place with leisurely pursuits and festivity perhaps due to the Fourth of July celebration. The expressionistic rendering uses bold brush strokes to create the late 19th century street with horses and carriages in the background. Framed; signed Fradier in lower left.
