- Lot Description
The green may suggest jade but the mineral of this nicely carved urn is fluorite. The poppies climbing the sides have icy translucence, the leaves, stems, and flowers encircling continue the naturalistic theme, with the emerald green ducks at the base serving as the highlight of this carved delight. This urn could be used as a decorative piece on its own, perhaps as a vase, or could be used as a lamp base, which is most likely one of its previous uses. The glow of the light accentuates the cracked ice body of the urn.
