ENGLAND, CIRCA 1880 A large English Mintons majolica Aesthetic movement Japonisme styled jardiniere attributed to designer Christopher Dresser (1834-1904). The jardiniere stands on figural mythical beast legs finished in Mintons iconic Persian blue glaze first introduced at the 1871 Paris International Exhibition of Pottery. The jardiniere is decorated in a Moorish tendril and floral design with varying banded patterns throughout. The underside is marked with impressed numerals "1630". 20" tall by 23" handle to handle
