Note: This rifle is pictured in The Longrifle Makers of the Salem School by C. Michael Briggs and Blake Stevenson on page 171 and 172, Briggs attributes the rifle to Timothy Vogler and claims it's one of the earliest known. Timothy was the youngest son of Christopher, he trained under John Vogler in 1819, went to Georgia in 1828 to work as a journeyman gunsmith and also worked with the Cherokee Indians, after that he returned to Salem to work with his brother Nathaniel as a gunsmith then built his own gun shop in 1831 on Main Street in Salem, Blake Stevenson was still running Vogler's gun shop at the time of publication of the book.
