- Lot Description
Pair of serving utensils by Emilia Castillo from the Agave Collection. Crafted in solid brass with silver-plated finish, the pieces feature agave rope handles bound by malachite inlaid silver rings, blending organic design with modernist craftsmanship. Each bowl is hand-hammered, one pierced with a stylized agave motif.
Both utensils are hallmarked and hand-signed: Emilia Castillo, Mexico, M.R., Plateado, TO-85.
Measurements:
15 in. length x 4 in. width x 0.5 in. high
Emilia Castillo, daughter of Antonio Castillo of the famed Los Castillo workshop, continues the legacy of Taxco silver pioneered by her father and William Spratling, whose influence helped define 20th-century Mexican silver design. This set reflects her distinctive style, combining mixed metals, stone inlay, and natural motifs, making it highly collectible for Mexican silver enthusiasts, decorative arts collectors, and interior designers seeking bold statement accents.Condition
Good overall vintage condition, light wear consistent with age and use, Loss to plating to the fork and one ring has loss to inlay.

For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
