A striking bronze sculpture by Victor Salmones (1937–1989), one of Mexico’s most important modernist sculptors of the 20th century. This rare Artist Proof (P/A) is signed and inscribed F5 Victor Salmones P/A, marking it as a highly desirable collector’s piece with direct connection to the artist’s hand and creative process.
Salmones’ work is celebrated for its biomorphic abstraction, organic curves, and sensual balance of mass and void. This sculpture demonstrates his signature style: burnished bronze surfaces shifting between deep patina and golden recesses, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Mounted on a black base, the composition is both architectural and fluid, bridging fine art and design.
Measurements: 26.5" H x 13" W x 15" D
Victor Salmones studied at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (Mexico City) and quickly gained international recognition in the 1970s and 1980s. His monumental works can be found in public spaces, corporate collections, and private estates around the world. Influenced by artists such as Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, Salmones created a distinctly Mexican modernist voice, blending universal themes of the human form, movement, and nature with lyrical abstraction.
For collectors of Mexican art, this Artist Proof is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a rare, signed bronze by one of the country’s most important sculptors. For interior designers, the piece offers a bold statement object — a commanding work of art that can serve as a dramatic focal point in contemporary, modernist, or eclectic interiors.
Recognized for his timeless contribution to sculpture, Victor Salmones remains a pivotal figure in the international art market, and works of this caliber continue to appreciate in cultural and financial value.
