- Lot Description
Striking and symbolically rich mixed media painting on board by Jesús Tellosa (1936–2012), a Mexican artist born in Tacámbaro, Michoacán, known for his work across painting, jewelry, and sculpture. This signed and dated piece from 1988 reflects a unique fusion of Mexican folk traditions, modernist abstraction, and personal mythology.
The composition features a central, robed figure flanked by a red-toned nude woman and a large anthropomorphic bird, surrounded by lace-detailed mandalas and ribboned medallions. Tellosa’s use of acrylic paint, collaged textiles, buttons, and bright colors evokes ceremonial energy and cultural symbolism with tactile immediacy.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
