A rare and exceptional large-scale silver-plated punch bowl by acclaimed Mexican designer Emilia Castillo, handcrafted in Taxco, Guerrero during the 1970s. This piece exemplifies Castillo’s distinctive artistic language—fusing bold forms, whimsical natural motifs, and artisanal mastery.
The hand-hammered silver-plated brass body is richly adorned with a colorful inlaid butterfly, made from semi-precious stones including malachite, jasper, turquoise, and onyx. The pedestal base features flower and leaf details in copper, stone, and silver, while elegant scrollwork handles complete the sculptural silhouette.
A true showcase of Mexican modernist silverwork, this rare bowl demonstrates Castillo’s skillful blend of lapidary art and metalwork, with a strong organic sensibility.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
