- Lot Description
Striking mid-century modern goblet set crafted in alpaca silver and richly inlaid with iridescent abalone shell panels, attributed to Mexican artisan silversmithing traditions. The set includes five miniature goblets raised on twisted stems and a matching rectangular serving tray bordered in abalone shell inlay. A vibrant display of color and craftsmanship, this set evokes the artistic heritage of Taxco and traditional Mexican silverwork, while offering collectors a rare tabletop ensemble that blends folk art charm with mid-century elegance.
All goblets and the tray are marked "Alpaca", a nickel silver alloy popular in Mexican artisan metalwork. The goblets are conically shaped and decorated with tessellated abalone pieces, creating a luminous, iridescent mosaic of greens, purples, blues, and pinks. The tray features matching abalone inlay along the border, creating cohesion between presentation and vessel.
This is an excellent acquisition for collectors of Mexican vintage silver, mid-century folk art, abalone inlay décor, or unusual barware and table accessories.
Measurements:
Tray: Approx. 8.75" long x 5.50" wide
Goblets: Approx. 2.50" high x 1.50" diameter each
Condition: Surface wear and patina consistent with age. One goblet slightly uneven at base; all pieces structurally sound.

Local pickup is welcomed, please call in advance to setup an appointment and ensure the items are paid for before picking up. For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
