- Lot Description
1st item: John Hegarty (American/Michigan, b.1938) impressionist oil on board still life depicting an oil lamp, wine bottle, and pottery jug atop a table and against a variegated blue backdrop, rendered in impasto brushstrokes. Signed lower left "J. Hegarty." Sight: 23 1/4 in H x 11 7/8 in W. Framed: 27 in H x 15 5/8 in W. Circa 1970. 2nd item: American School oil on canvas still life painting that depicts a bouquet of daisies in a dark green vase set against a vibrant mustard yellow background. Monogram signature HE and dated 1959, lower right. Housed in the original gilt-painted wood frame. Sight: 29 1/4 in H x 23 3/4 in W. Framed: 32 3/4 in H x 26 5/8 in W.
Condition
Item 1 with losses to lower right corner, otherwise overall very good condition. Frame with scattered minor abrasions, primarily to the corners. Item 2 in overall very good condition. Minor scattered abrasions and losses to the frame.
