- Lot Description
Persian pictorial area rug, wool on cotton foundation, having central stylized medallions with alternating blue and tan grounds and all-over figures of various birds and animals, and a floral border with cartouche decoration. Dimensions: 240" L x 144" W (20' L x 12' W). First quarter 20th century.
Condition
Areas of pile wear down to foundation, scattered knot pulling. Some wear and areas of loss to selvage and fringe edges. Even fading, abrash evident, and some soiling throughout.
