- Lot Description
Stewart or Stuart L. Forbes (British, late 19th-early 20th century) watercolor painting depicting a herd of Scottish highland cattle grazing at the edge of a large body of water. A mountain rises through mist in the background, with another group of cattle at its base. Signed "Stuart L. Forbes" lower left. Early 20th century gilded frame with urn and scroll carved corner ornaments. Sight - 28 1/2" W x 20 1/2"H. Frame - 36 1/2 "W x 29" H.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Delores Farr, Signal Mountain, TN.
Condition
Painting is in excellent condition, not examined out of frame. Frame is regilded with some wear and losses to corner and edge surfaces, and some staining lower left corner.
