1795 Harpers Ferry Musket Type III
.69 caliber, 44" barrel length. Markings on lockplate in front of hammer with eagle motif with US in a shield. At the rear of the lock plate is marked Harpers over Ferry over 1811. Top of barrel on left side is marked "US" in an oval and "CP" near breech. The left side of the stock at breech is marked "CP" and "V" over "MH." Has walnut stock with three barrel bands; the upper barrel band is a double band. Barrel is browned. The buttplate, lockplate, sidelock, trigger, triggerguard, hammer, frizzen, sling swivels and the barrel bands are gray metal. Has steel button-head ramrod.

The stock is in very good condition with minor nicks and dings. The barrel has a dark brown untouched patina. The buttplate, lockplate, sidelock, trigger, triggerguard, hammer, frizzen, sling swivels and barrel bands all have a light peppered pitting. The bands, buttplate, trigger and triggerguard have been lightly cleaned, but retain the peppered pitting. The bore has some pitting. Overall condition is very good.
